Mets Concerned With Francisco Lindors Back But Confident Injury Isnt Serious

Mets 'Concerned' with Francisco Lindor's Back, But Confident Injury Isn't Serious

New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor is dealing with back tightness and did not play in Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Mets manager Buck Showalter said that the team is "concerned" about Lindor's injury, but they are confident that it is not serious.

Lindor first felt the tightness in his back during Friday's game against the Phillies. He was removed from the game in the seventh inning.

Showalter said that Lindor will be evaluated further on Sunday, but he is expected to be available for Monday's game against the Washington Nationals.

The Mets are already without shortstop Jeff McNeil, who is on the injured list with a hamstring injury. If Lindor is unable to play, the Mets could start Luis Guillorme at shortstop.

Lindor is hitting .265 with five home runs and 21 RBIs this season. He is one of the best shortstops in baseball and his absence would be a big blow to the Mets.

The Mets are currently in first place in the NL East, but they have been struggling lately. They have lost four of their last six games and are just 11-13 in their last 24 games.

The Mets are hoping that Lindor's injury is not serious and that he will be able to return to the lineup soon.
